Week 4

Han
I think this study Is pretty interesting, with its investigation into how CREB plays a role in fear memory network. I think that the study was also conducted pretty well, but again not sure how to interpret animal models because seems pretty subjective, so it would have been nice if they described their behavioral tests in more detail, also their fear training. Its also hard to interpret the results because I don't think they adequately disproved other explanations for the results of their behavioral tests such as testing that it didn't affect the subjects movements, and probably other things that might explain results. The interpretation that it was a lack fear memory could also be called into question because, maybe it was that they just did not  feel fear, how can really interpret this type of memory in animal models because you can't really tell if it forgot or just like I wrote just not feeling fear. Not sure how you would go forward in other studies using animal models for fear memory, but I do think it is decent enough that they should continue research into fear memory. this study is a good starting point for other studies to look into fear memory, specifically to try and use different aspects of things that CREB is involved in and applying that to new models to get a more pinpoint look at what specifically might be involved for fear memory.
